The Priory School

Back

The Priory School is a strong academic institution that focuses on more than just exam results. We pride ourselves on helping students progress and thrive, and we do this by offering exceptional learning opportunities within a nurturing and safe environment.

We educate for life in all its fullness, and we do it the Priory Way; with wisdom, hope, dignity and community collaboration.

Learning opportunities can be found in a wealth of settings, both in school and in the community, and our teaching staff are exceptional at engaging and stimulating our students’ minds. Whilst academic rigour is essential, we pride ourselves on having a holistic approach. Confidence, self-belief and self-worth are incredibly important to a sense of well-being, and we believe that equipping our students in this way gives them a solid foundation upon which to build the rest of their lives.

Our school is nestled in the heart of Dorking, set within an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Surrey Hills. Our community ties us to our neighbours, to the local families we serve, to the wider local community in the Mole Valley, and on to our national network of Church of England schools. These bonds give our students opportunities and points of access to make a real difference to the lives of those around us, and we are proud of the meaningful ways they elect to make a difference in our community.

Working at the Priory

At the Priory School, we define our success in two ways; through academic achievement, and through the personal, social and emotional development of our students. We’re passionate about engaging our students in their own learning experience, and we look for the best of the best to make this happen.

Teaching takes more than just a qualification – it takes experience, humour, patience, and dedication. It takes wisdom, hope, dignity and community. For us, this is the Priory Way. Our school ethos is rooted in our Church of England values, but we welcome staff of Christian faith, of other faiths and of no faith equally and without prejudice.

Our team has helped students achieve outstanding rates of progress, and this is in large part due to the commitment of our teaching staff.
