i2i Centre Director selected to join national NASBTT SEND in ITT Co‑Creation Group
i2i is incredibly proud to announce that i2i Centre Director Kelly Richens was selected as one of 12 individuals nationally to participate in NASBTT’s (The National Association of School-Based Teacher Trainers) prestigious SEND in ITT Co‑Creation Group.
As a leading regional provider of teacher training, i2i believes that great teachers change lives. Our human-first approach to training ensures that our trainees feel supported, valued and empowered throughout their journey into teaching, and our involvement in this national project reflects our commitment to ensuring every trainee teacher is equipped to support all pupils, including those with the most complex needs.
A commitment to excellence in inclusive teacher development
The SEND in ITT Co‑Creation Group is one of the most ambitious and impactful initiatives in NASBTT’s history. Its purpose is to work with sector experts to design a sector‑wide content map for SEND within Initial Teacher Training programmes. The aim is to define what excellent SEND preparation looks like for trainee and early career teachers. i2i’s involvement is driven by our unwavering commitment to inclusivity, and by our belief that every trainee deserves the tools, confidence, and human‑centred support needed to meet the needs of every learner.
Leading the future of SEND in ITT
Through our participation in the SEND Co‑Creation Group, i2i will play a key role in shaping national training by helping to develop the NASBTT resources. Our involvement will strengthen the trainee experience, ensuring new teachers are confident and well‑prepared to support all pupils, and ultimately contribute to improving outcomes for children and young people across the country.
Together with NASBTT and other key teacher training providers we are honoured to be part of this crucial work to help create best practice and define what “truly excellent” SEND preparation looks like.
