"Teaching religious studies is not just about imparting knowledge; it's about fostering understanding, empathy, and respect for the diverse tapestry of beliefs that shape our world"

Why train to be a Religious Education teacher?

Training to be a religious education teacher is a profoundly rewarding career choice that allows you to promote understanding and tolerance in a diverse world. By teaching students about various religious beliefs and practices, you help foster empathy and respect, combating prejudice and ignorance. This role also encourages critical thinking and ethical development, inspiring students to reflect on their own values and beliefs. Beyond the intellectual challenge, being a religious education teacher offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on future generations, shaping thoughtful, compassionate individuals who can contribute to a more harmonious society.

How will i2i train you to become a Religious Education teacher?

Explore. Challenge. Debate

Our inspiring Religious Education programme will prepare you to teach the roots of religious and non-religious beliefs and practices, how they have changed over time and make connections with religious and non-religious practices. You will be mentored and taught by highly enthusiastic and experienced teachers, encouraging and supporting you to apply your knowledge to create inspiring and engaging lessons.

In addition to weekly Professional Study Sessions, trainees will have seven Religious Education Subject Studies days with our experienced RE Subject Tutor.  You will have the opportunity to explore, develop and challenge your own beliefs, and learn how to make religious education accessible, inclusive and meaningful for all students.  Each session sends you away with a clear task that allows you to put your new learning into practice, which is then shared and discussed in the following session.

Every day as a Religious Education trainee offers a new opportunity to challenge, debate and be inspired.
