Meet the Team

Mark has been teaching for almost 20 years having joined Weydon as an NQT, becoming Head of Year and then Assistant Head with responsibility for Key Stage 3. When the teaching school programme was introduced, Mark was asked to take the lead, becoming one of the first leaders to embark on what was then the new School Direct route into teaching. Mark has recently taken on a central role for the Weydon Multi Academy Trust as Executive Director of Academy Improvement but remains close to the i2i Teaching Partnership. Mark loves working with our amazing team of staff and trainees, developing them as teachers and leaders and having the opportunity to influence and improve the education opportunities of students across Surrey & Hampshire.

Mark’s “WHY?”
Mark’s passion as a teacher is huge and being able to support a student who is finding school tough or inspiring students to achieve in the classroom is still what makes him want to come to work every day!

Outside of work Mark can be found enjoying the great outdoors – walking, climbing and mountain biking or pottering in his garden. Mark also loves the theatre, travelling to nice places and relaxing in front of the fire watching a film. Mark lists his favourite movies as the Star Wars series, Top Gun and Baby Driver.
