"I get so much support from the programme, from my mentor to my colleagues, and I can see my teaching improving every day from the course and feedback I receive."

I had been thinking of teaching for a few years, but it was not the right time for me then. I wanted to pass on my language skills and share my French culture, and I wanted to be able to have a deeper impact in the students‘ life than I had before in my previous role. The thought that I could help children learn another language was quite appealing. A friend who had changed her career and started teaching a while ago confirmed to me that this was a profession she could see me thrive in, and I made then the decision to apply to a teaching training programme.

I started my research by reading the Get into Teaching website and spoke to personalised advisors about selecting a training provider, the UCAS form and the various requirements.

I just had to research and select the training providers I wanted to apply to. I knew that I wanted to get stuck in from the get go, so gaining my PGCE via the SCITT route was more suited to me than the university option. I had to find a provider not too far to commute to as well, and came across the i2i Partnership Training Programme. When I spoke to them, they supported me during the whole application process, from the UCAS form to organising work experience so easily. The process was very enjoyable and swift! The programme is what I expected so far: challenging, relevant and personalised. I get so much support from the programme, from my mentor to my colleagues, and I can see my teaching improving every day from the course and feedback I receive.
