Three Rivers Academy is a vibrant, supportive and inspiring school at a very exciting time in its development. In February 2018 we moved into a brand new building offering modern, spacious and outstanding facilities, which will support us in our aim to deliver a first-class education for all young people.We provide opportunities for students of all abilities to achieve high standards within a caring atmosphere that enables them to develop socially and academically.

Three Rivers truly believe that training generation of teachers 'on the job' is the best way to develop high quality teachers. The positive impact of Initial Teacher Training is acknowledged by staff and well-embedded across the school. We want our trainees to feel the same sense of belonging and feel as valued as the rest of our staff. We encourage our trainees to become involved in the wider life of the school, either by participating in our ‘legendary’ school shows or taking part in our vast range of extra-curricular activities.

All trainees are provided with a subject-specialist mentor who meets with them weekly to review progress and set targets. We offer regular training sessions, led by our ITT Coordinator and members of SLT, which support trainees in meeting the Teachers’ Standards whilst being bespoke to our school context.

Over the years, we have retained an increasing proportion of trainee teachers at the end of their training year, most of whom are still flourishing with us.
